Transport and Environment through EU projects Workshop
7th October 2010, Portorož (Slovenia)
Shipping is the most environmental friendly mode of transport. All the more as environmental protection has long since arrived in the maritime industry. The issue is very much a priority and is being implemented in all companies and organisations of the industry. What has been missing up to now is global coordination, as a foundation for joint action, providing a level playing for the whole of the industry.
That is the reason for gmec, the first global maritime environmental congress, which will be held in Hamburg on 7 and 8 September 2010, on the occasion of SMM, the world’s leading shipbuilding trade fair.
